‘Welcome back, King’: Fans break the net congratulating Virat Kohli on his return to form
Virat Kohli played a vintage Kohli knock and helped Bangalore to a win in an important clash against Gujarat.
Bangalore and Gujarat squared off in the 67th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. The fans remained witness to vintage-Kohli stuff.
Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to first in the match. On the back of Pandya’s brilliant 62 off 47. During their chase, Bangalore openers looked in great touch from the very beginning. While Kohli looked to be the aggressor, Faf played a perfect supporting role to him. The luck favored him at the start and this got him going.
After the initial phase, Kohli found back his mojo. He started doing what he does best, rotating the strike and also hitting the occasional boundary. Kohli batting fluently at one end allowed Faf to play a second fiddle as he was finding it difficult in the middle. Kohli played a brilliant knock of 73 runs from 54 balls. He hits 8 fours and 2 sixes during his stay. Rashid Khan picked up his wicket at last in the 17th over of the innings.
Kohli’s knock gave much delight to the fans. The huge fan base of the talismanic batter was waiting for a long time for the man to regain his form. The most satisfying thing for the fans will be that it was a trademark Kohli knock. All the elements of a usual Kohli knock like rotation of strikes, occasional boundaries and aggressive body language was present in the knock.
Speaking of the match, Glenn Maxwell made sure that Kohli’s effort don’t go in vain. He played an explosive knock of 40 runs from 18 balls. Maxwell took his team to victory by 8 wickets with 1.2 overs remaining in the match. With this win Bangalore kept their hopes of making it to the playoffs alive.

Virat’s enjoying his batting this evening. The good shots and the streaky ones. Not the modern day great searching for form, but the boy who loves his cricket is on the field tonight. #RCBvGT #ViratKohli
