Gujarat bowling attack and stitched a stunning partnership of 134* runs in just 85 deliveries to stage Kolkata’s comeback. Shakib struck 66 runs off 49 balls and Yusuf hit 63 runs in 41 deliveries. The duo helped Kolkata post a competitive total of 158 and in the meanwhile created history by stitching the highest fifth-wicket stand in the ITL.

Kolkata faced Punjab in the finals of the 2014 season. Chasing 200 in a final was quite a tough ask but the Kolkata batters were up for the challenge and chased down the taget with three balls to spare.With the historic win,  Kolkata recorded the highest successful run-chase in the final of the ITL and broke their own record that they created in 2012.

Andre Russell put on an exhibition of some fantastic death-bowling against Gujarat in 2022 season and bagged four scalps while giving away just five runs in an over. Russell took wickets at a stellar strike rate of 1.5 and hence, registered a joint-best strike rate by a bowler in an innings in the ITL.
