4. VVS Laxman’s 281

India hosted Australia in the year 2001 and Eden Gardens hosted the second Test of the series. The player scored a massive 281 off 452 balls and helped India get a decent lead. The Indian team went on to win the match and this innings became the talk of the town.

3. Sachin Tendulkar’s 241

The Mumbai batter once played a spine-tingling knock in Australia. In the year 2003/04, Tendulkar amassed 241 runs against Australia in Sydney without scoring a single cover drive. He achieved the feat in the fourth Test match of the series.
