‘We will do whatever it takes to win a medal here’, asserts Manpreet Singh ahead of Commonwealth Games 2022

The Indian hockey skipper, Manpreet Singh assured the fans that the team has prepared well pretty well for the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2022. He stated that their focus right now is to reach Birmingham and get accustomed to the weather there.

For the unversed, the event is scheduled to happen from July 28 to August 8. And the hopes are extremely high as the hockey team left to participate in the mega event on Saturday. Ahead of the travel, Manpreet Singh said that the team would hope to get off to a strong start against Ghana.

The Indian hockey team is drawn alongside Ghana, Canada, England, and Wales. The Indian hockey team would hope to get off to a flying start in the multi-sport event. Manpreet Singh said that they will do whatever it takes to win a medal for the country. He added that they have analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of the team. And he said that the team had prepared well ahead for the mega event to be held in Birmingham.

“Right now, we are focused on reaching Birmingham and getting accustomed to the weather and playing conditions there. We are also preparing for our first game, as a strong start against Ghana will be crucial in kicking off our campaign,” Singh said. Now it will be upon the skipper and the team to do it for the country. The Indian national hockey team has been fantastic over the years in multi-sport events. And this time too, they’ll try to replicate the same energy.

“Having worked on our strengths and weaknesses in the last few months, we will do whatever it takes to win a medal here,” Singh said. India will begin their race for the medal on July 31st. India will play against Ghana on 31st July, England on 1st August, Canada on 3rd August and Wales on 4th August. The players are all set and so are the fans as they await their players to win a medal for the country
