Team India batter Virat Kohli has rarely hesitated to display his notorious side during matches. On the first day of the 2nd Test at Cape Town on Wednesday, spectators saw something similar.

The humorous occurrence took place in the sixteenth over of the South African innings. The song “Ram Siya Ram” started playing on the Newlands speakers immediately as Keshav Maharaj approached the crease. Moreover, as Maharaj moved to the crease, Kohli, who was positioned at slip, folded both his hands and struck a bow string position.

Virat Kohli was enjoying himself throughout the opening session in India’s first overseas encounter of the New Year. From offering advice to his colleagues and scheming to bring down the opposing batsman to striking postures on the pitch to keep the spectators interested.

‘Ram Siya Ram,’ a devotional anthem that has become associated with South African bowler Keshav Maharaj’s entrance at the batting end, fills the air when he walks out to the crease, especially during the current series against India.

This unusual instance was endearingly brought to light during a game. Team India wicketkeeper KL Rahul teased Maharaj about how the music seemed to be there every time he batted. This humorous interaction was captured by the stump-mic, who made it go viral.

Rahul was just seen smiling in response to Maharaj’s straightforward “yes” , capturing a moment of cultural exchange and companionship. This sort of exchange frequently lurks behind the competitive energy between two teams.

Virat Kohli brings back the captaincy side of him!

A video that captured Virat Kohli giving Mohammed Siraj advice before the fast bowler dismissed all-rounder Marco Jansen earlier in the day went popular on social media. Early in Jansen’s innings, the former captain Kohli pushed Siraj to get him edge one to the slip cordon. The fast bowler delivered the ideal delivery for his fifth wicket of the day.

In their lowest Test score against India, South Africa was bowled out for 55. Mohammed Siraj concluded with career-best figures of 6 for 15. Siraj also made history by being only the eighth pacer from India to take five wickets in a Test match in South Africa.
