Virat Kohli is preparing for the first Test against Bangladesh, which begins on Wednesday, after scoring a century in the third ODI. India hopes to put the ODI series loss to Bangladesh behind them and even the odds in the Tests, the first of which will be played in Chattogram, and Kohli got right to work.

On the day before the game, Team India practised, and Kohli was evidently in a good mood and focused as usual. Before playing a friendly game of frisbee, the star India batter completed the fitness exercises. Before moving to the other end of the field to spar with players like Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Axar Patel, Kohli first engaged in throwdowns. He played some assured and aggressive strokes throughout the session, which lasted close to 40 minutes.

Kohli then took a break from the nets before returning for another 20 minutes or so to participate in more throwdowns. Young Shubman Gill, who will open the innings for India alongside acting captain KL Rahul, could also be seen interacting with Kohli.

However, Kohli’s batting against Axar Patel is one incident that unquestionably captures his attitude. The left-arm spinner was hit for a massive six by Kohli, who later teased him about it. A video of the same has done rounds on the internet.

In the first half of the year, Kohli struggled with his form, but recently, he has been in excellent form, scoring centuries in both ODI and T20I. Having scored four half-centuries, he was the 20-20 World Cup’s top run scorer and finished second in the Asia Cup. Kohli would try to change it because he hasn’t played his best for India in Test matches this year.

India is the only Test opponent Bangladesh has yet to defeat. India has dominated the 11 Tests played between the two teams, winning nine of them while drawing the other two. However, India cannot afford to treat Bangladesh lightly after the ODI series loss.
