Umran Malik has impressed everyone with his skills to bowl the quickest deliveries in the middle. When he was selected to play in the ODI series against Bangladesh, fans expected that he would deliver his best. However, he did not get to play in the first match as debutant Kuldeep Sen was selected over him.
Now, he has walked back into the side for the second ODI at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka replacing Sen. He began his spell with a bang, taking a wicket in his second over itself. Malik bowled a 151-kmph delivery that ripped Najmul Hossain Shanto’s off stump.
Shanto didn’t move his feet because he was expecting something short. He attempted to drive into the off-side and was all hands on deck. Umran Malik had enough space past the outside edge to get some skid and hammer the off stump.

Earlier, in his first over, Malik troubled Shakib al Hasan with his ridiculous pace and unpredictable bounce. He did not concede a run in that over and put the batter in a tough spot by hitting on the back with a short delivery that did not bounce as much as expected.
In the meantime, the Bangla Tigers have struggled to get going in the second match. After winning the first match, which turned out to be a low-scoring thriller, the team led by Litton Das would have expected to do better.
Most of their batters failed to perform in this match, putting pressure on lower-middle-order batters. At the time of writing this article, Bangladesh have scored 115 runs and have lost six wickets in 29 overs. Mahmudullah, batting at 22 runs in 34 balls, and last match’s hero Mehidy Hasan Miraz, batting at 26 runs in 28 balls, in the middle.
With a win in this match, the Men in Blue will look to reclaim the series lead and even the score line.
