WATCH: Umpire shows wrong signal after DRS during Australia vs South Africa women’s 2nd ODI
During the 2nd ODI something unusual happened, the standing umpire of the game made a mistake as he gave notout for an lbw appeal against Sune Luus.
Australia Women is currently hosting South Africa for three three-match ODI series. Alyssa Healy’s side have won the first ODI by 8 wickets. During the 2nd ODI, something unusual happened, the standing umpire of the game made a mistake as he gave not out for an lbw appeal against Sune Luus on the ball off Ashleigh Gardner but the Aussies reviewed the decision and it remained not out as the ball was impact outside off but the on-field umpire Claire Polosak gave wrong decision giving it out after the review later realising and changing her decision.
When the third umpire told Polosak to stick to her original decision, the on-field umpire signalled Luus as out. She quickly realised her error and signalled not-out while apologising. Alana King and Ashleigh Gardner were caught laughing as they saw the umpire’s error. Gardner went on to get the wicket of Luus’ wicket in her next over as the former South African skipper departed for just 19 runs off 33 balls.
The game is currently delayed by the rain with the Proteas are 136/4. The home side has the chance to win the ODI series by taking a commanding 2-0 lead. The hosts appear to be in control of the game, as South Africa has continued to lose wickets at regular intervals.

Australia’s eye for series win
Tazmin Brits, Anneke Bosch and Luus all had good starts, but neither could turn them into bigger scores. Marizanne Kapp who is currently unbeaten at 35 is expected to lead her squad to a respectable total. Kapp is joined at the crease by Nadine de Klerk, while the explosive Chloe Tryon has yet to bat. However, with the score at 136/4 and more than 20 overs remaining, the visitors require a solid partnership that can set the stage for an exciting run chase.
Healy has been named in the nomination as the Women’s Player of the Month alongside, Beth Mooney. The former has been in great form with his leadership skills in recent times. There are two Women cricketers in the nomination and this shows the domination of Australian cricket.
