With just 98 more days to go in this year’s 20-20 World Cup, the excitement for the grand event is getting higher every day. The fans are eagerly waiting to see their favourite stars in action giving their all on the field to have their hands on the most coveted trophy in the shortest format of the game.

With the tournament approaching, the apex cricket body launched another promo for the ‘marquee tournament’ involving Indian batter Rishabh Pant and Sydney Harbor on Sunday on their social media handles.

In the 30-second-long video, Rishabh Pant’s giant avatar is seen emerging out of the Sydney Harbor and then walking on the roads of the city leaving the citizens awestruck. The video was posted with the caption “Welcome to The Big Time, Rishabh Pant.”

Notably, the eighth edition of the 20-20 world cup is all set to be played from 16 October to 13 November in Australia. India have been kept in Group 2 alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, Bangladesh, Group B winner and Group A runner-up.

The Men in Blue will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on 24 October which promises to be another ‘mouth-watering’ competition between the two sides, especially after Pakistan won their first-ever world cup against India in the last edition. India will then play Group A runner-up, South Africa, Bangladesh, and Group B winners respectively in their next four group matches.

India will be looking for a dramatic turnaround this year at the tournament after their shambolic first-stage exit last year. They are desperately searching for a major tournament victory since 2013 as they’ve failed to go past the knockout stages of multi-national tournaments since then. India will be entering the competition under the leadership of their new captain Rohit Sharma.

India is finalising their squad before the grand event giving all the new faces equal opportunities to shine at the international level. They have two more series left to finalise their squad.
