Rajasthan team will pay their tribute to the late Shane Warne during the game against Mumbai on April 30. The players will be wearing a special jersey on which “S23” will be imprinted on the collars. Warne died on March 4 due to a heart attack while on a vacation in Thailand. He was an integral part of the team during his playing days from 2008 to 2011.

In 2008, the former Australia leg-spinner led the Rajasthan team to the maiden title. The 145-Test veteran played 15 games and took 19 wickets in that season. Warne announced his retirement from the league after the 2011 season. Meanwhile, ahead of their return fixture against Mumbai, the franchise has posted a tribute video on their official Twitter handle.

In that video, Rajasthan players spoke about Shane Warne. Remembering Warne, Jos Buttler said that Warne could instill belief in others which was the biggest thing for the legend. On the other hand, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal said that Warne’s wishes are always with him.

“The belief he could instil in others, I think, was the biggest thing I took away, you know. Think he made you feel 10 feet tall when you were around him,” Jos said.

“I think his wishes have and always will be with him,” said Yuzvendra Chahal.

Meanwhile, the match between Rajasthan and Mumbai will be played at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The Sanju Samson-led side have earned 12 points after winning six games and are only two wins away from making it to the playoffs. On the other hand, the five-time winners have lost all of their eight games in the season and have been eliminated from the playoff race.

Both teams are playing for the second time in this season. The last time they played, Buttler scored a hundred and the team went on to win the game by 23 runs. The 2008 winners would be looking to register their second win against the Men In Blue and Gold and pay a fitting tribute to Shane Warne.
