Earlier, for his amazing batting performance, Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran received the Player of the Match award. Zadran, in his innings, scored 87 runs off 113 balls with the help of ten boundaries. During the post-match presentation ceremony, Zadran received his award. While speaking with the presenter, Zadran dedicated his award to the Afghani refugees deported from Pakistan.

He said, “I want to dedicate this Player of the Match award to those people whom Pakistan has sent back to Afghanistan.” He further spoke about his partnership with wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz and praised his batting abilities. “I am very thankful to the almighty that I performed well in this kind of big tournament”, said Zadran.

“I wanted to go there and bat longer to score runs for my side. I have added big partnerships with Gurbaz so many times. We have a good understanding between us. We have played together since the under-16 stages. He is a good motivator. I am feeling very glad for myself and for my country,” he said.
