Watch- Pakistan’s Usman Qadir takes a stunning catch to dismiss Alex Hales in the fourth T20I against England

Many memes were made about Pakistan’s fielding at the Asia Cup 2022. The team has on many occasions given cricket fans some hilarious fielding mishaps that have gone on to entertain opposing fans for years while being a point of embarrassment for the Pakistan fans.

The fourth match of the ongoing T20I series between Pakistan and England however brought a moment that is certain to make all Pakistan fans happy. The much talked about moment came in the eighth ball of the second inning when Alex Hales was forced to check his shot off Mohammad Hasnain’s short ball. The ball lifted into the air and went towards mid-wicket, where a highly aware Usman Qadir was waiting, ready to pounce. The 29-year-old bowler defied gravity to get to the ball and caught it on full stretch.

The video clip has since then gone viral with people claiming it to be one of the best catches in recent memory.

As for the game, it was a high-quality thriller that went right down to the wire. Coming onto bat first, the home team produced 166 runs on the back of a Mohammad Rizwan half-century (88). Asif Ali also played an important knock at the end and made 13 off of just three deliveries.

England began the chase in poor fashion as they lost three quick wickets and found themselves struggling at 14/3. Ben Duckett (33) and Harry Brook (34) steadied the innings in the middle and brought the team out of a certain loss situation. Captain Moeen Ali (29) and Liam Dawson (34) further solidified their position and brought the visiting team close to victory. With five needed in 10 deliveries, the match was heavily in England’s favour but a sensational Hasnain took two quick wickets and Pakistan held the nerves to run the last batter out and win the game by three runs.

The series is now tied at 2-2 with three matches still to go. The next match of the series is scheduled to be played on 28th September in Lahore.
