India- Pakistan is arguably the biggest cricketing rivalry on the planet. It is one game that brings extreme emotions, not just from fans but from players and coaching staff alike.

The India-Pakistan Super Four match on Sunday brought out similar moments in droves. A video posted by Pakistan Cricket’s official Twitter account shows Pakistan players and support staff in the Pakistan dressing room, enduring the anxiety of the last over from their dugouts.

Here’s the video:

The video starts off when Pakistan needed 11 runs off the seven deliveries when Asif Ali hits a four off of Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s last ball. The four bring a huge cheer from players like Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Babar Azam, Shadab Khan and others. With the equation being seven off six, all of Pakistan’s players watched on as the last over got off.

All of them could be seen jumping for joy on the second ball of the last over as Asif hammers down a full toss down the ground for a four. Anticipating a win on the third ball, Rizwan could be heard saying, “Iss ball pe khatam, jayada nahi sochna hai (Should end on this ball, must not think more). The Pakistan dugout however had to face another twist in the tale on the fourth ball as Arshdeep Singh dismissed Ali with a terrific yorker.

The fifth ball of the last over broke the emotional dam as Pakistan players leapt with joy and hugged each other following a two-run from Iftikhar Ahmed. Pakistan had won the match by five wickets all of the Pakistan contingent began hugging and congratulating each other with huge smiles on their faces.

Shadab Khan looked the most excited as he roared the loudest with others joining him in celebration. This was Pakistan’s first win against India in the Asia Cup 2022 and has been hailed as revenge for the group stage loss by Pakistan fans.

Both teams still have a chance to reach the final as they have two more games left to play. India faces Sri Lanka next on September 6th, whereas Pakistan will go head to head against Afghanistan a day later in the Asia Cup 2022.
