Watch: MS Dhoni’s six-hitting continues in Surat ahead of the Indian T20 League
Chennai skipper MS Dhoni is preparing extensively for the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League, starting on March 26. The defending champions will play Kolkata at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in the opener. This week, a video of Dhoni went viral on social video where he was practicing six-hitting. In that video, he hit a one-handed six, giving a glimpse of what is in store.
This time around, he was batting in open nets in which two teams were divided to simulate a cricket match. The right-hander hit a short-arm jab against a left-arm pacer. The ball was heading towards outside the off-stump but the former India skipper managed to pull it towards the leg side. Fans went on a berserk and warned the opposition about the danger the 40-year-old might bring during the cash-rich league.

The team is currently practicing in Surat, where the pitches are prepared using the same soil as Wankhede. The idea for the team is to prepare themselves for the league matches which will be played at Wankhede, D.Y. Patil, and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadiums.
Talking about Dhoni, he had announced that this season might be his last as a player. At that time, he had said that he is hoping to play his last ITL game in front of the Chennai crowd. However, due to the COVID-19 situation, the Board of Control for Cricket In India decided to stage the league games in Mumbai and Pune to avoid air-travel.
