India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has expressed his anger over former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq’s remarks. Apparently, in a video uploaded by a Twitter user, the former PCB chief selector claimed that Singh was close to converting to Islam from Sikhism. However, Singh, who is the Rajya Sabha MP and AAP politician has refuted the claims. Also, he used harsh words to criticize what is claimed to be false information.

On the other hand, former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has entered the conversation and said that Singh can guess what he went through during his time in his homeland. For the unversed, Kaneria, who is the fifth-highest wicket-taker in Tests for the Asian side has left for the USA for good. A few years back, Kaneria claimed that Shahid Afridi used to discriminate against him due to his religion.

Inzamam-ul-Haq resigned as PCB chief selector

Meanwhile, recently, the former PCB chief selector resigned from the post late last month. Apparently, a leading Pakistani media house reported that players such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi are in a business partnership with Haq. Also, another conflict of interest point came out that all the above individuals were managed by Saya Corporations, owned by Talha Aisham Rehmani. During the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, Haq stepped down.

“Pakistan Cricket Board has accepted Inzamam-ul-Haq’s resignation as the chairman of the national men’s selection committee and junior selection committee and will announce his replacement in due course.

“Inzamam-ul-Haq voluntarily stepped down from his position on 30 October in order to offer the PCB the opportunity to conduct a transparent inquiry about the conflict of interest allegations,” said the PCB statement.
