When speaking to paparazzi on Friday, Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela wished Rishabh Pant a speedy recovery and even referred to him as “India’s pride”. The photographers questioned the actress about the social media images showing Pant walking for the first time following surgery at the Mumbai Airport.

The actress was initially unsure of what photograph the paparazzi were referring to, but she later stated, “He is an asset to our country,” and called him “India’s pride”. When a photographer expressed their heartfelt sympathy for the Indian cricket team star who was injured in a car accident, she responded, “Humari bhi (Mine as well).”

The 30-year-old cricketer suffered multiple injuries in a road accident on December 30, and despite his car catching fire as a result of the incident, Pant was able to escape safely. He’s had several surgeries since then, and according to reports, his burns are healing.

Doctors predict that he will need 6-9 months to fully recover from his injuries, and he will almost certainly miss this year’s Indian T20 League. Urvashi has left several cryptic messages about the cricketer, including a picture of Pant in the hospital with the caption “Praying, love Urvashi Rautela” in a picture.

Earlier, Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev expressed concern for the youngster and, on a lighter note, expressed his desire to slap Pant as soon as he recovers from the injuries he sustained in the near-fatal accident. In an Uncut video, Dev stated that Pant’s absence has left the Indian team in shambles. Kapil wants to slap Pant after he has recovered, just as parents have the right to slap their children when they make mistakes.
