India vs West Indies
Watch: Harbhajan Singh compares Yuzvendra Chahal’s batting to Sachin Tendulkar
Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh jokingly compared leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s lofted straight drive with non-other than Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar had played countless straight drives in his illustrious career of 24 years. In the second ODI between India and West Indies in Ahmedabad, the Rohit Sharma-led side was asked to bat first.
The Windies bowlers bowled with relentless discipline as the Men In Blue were tottering at 43/3 at one stage. A half-century from Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul’s 49 helped the team recover. However, the spin duo of Akeal Hosain and Fabian Allen, and pacer Alzarri Joseph made sure India was restricted to 237/9.
In the last over bowled by Joseph, Chahal hit a boundary while playing a lofted straight drive. Reacting to this, the 2011 World Cup winner sarcastically said that Chahal had hit the drive just like Sachin Tendulkar used to hit.
“Joseph, jo sabse tez gendbaaz hai, unko unhi ke sar ke upar se Sachin Tendulkar ki tarah saamne balla dikhate huye 4 run. Waah, what a shot Yuzvendra!,†the 41-year-old said.

Defending 238 runs, the Indian bowlers restricted the Men In Maroon 193-all out, winning the match by 44 runs. This was India’s 11th straight series victory against the 1975 and 1979 World Cup winners. The last time West Indies won an ODI series against India was way back in 2006 at home. Trailing by 0-1, the Brain Lara-led side went on to win four games back-to-back to win the series 4-1. Since then, they haven’t been able to win an ODI series against India. In this series, they lost the first game by six wickets.
