Pakistan and England met for the third T20I at the National Stadium, Karachi on Friday. The three-lions managed to take a 2-1 lead in the seven-match series with an emphatic victory. Apart from the scintillating action on the field, a fan at the stadium grabbed attention for her special message for Pakistan Captain Babar Azam.
The message on the poster was, “can we collaborate for a long-term partnership?” And the commentator was quick to say, “only Babar can answer that.”
Before the match, the girl revealed that her mother wants to get her married soon and she will be very happy if Babar spots the banner. When asked if she wanted to marry the Pakistani captain, the girl replied, “why not.” She also stated that she is a big fan of Babar’s playing style.

Coming back to the match, Babar Azam won the toss and elected to field first. Opener Will Jacks gave a blistering start to the English Side as he scored a brilliant 40 off just 22 balls. After his dismissal, Ben Duckett and Harry Brook came together at the crease and launched an all-out attack on the Pakistan bowlers. They were involved in an unbeaten 139 off 69 balls which took their team to a massive score of 221/3 after 20 overs. Duckett scored an unbeaten 70 off 42 balls while Brook remained not out on 81 off 35 balls.
Pakistan’s reply to England’s massive target got off to a miserable start as they lost four wickets for 28 runs. Shan Masood and Khushdil Shah tried to rescue the innings with a solid 62-run stand but fell behind on the net run rate. Pakistan faced an uphill task of scoring 131 runs in 49 balls which proved to be too much for their lower order and tail as they faltered under immense pressure.
England registered a comprehensive win by 63 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the seven-match series. Harry Brook was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his scintillating innings. The two teams will again meet on Sunday for the fourth T20I of the series.
