Wasim Akram also reacted to a derogatory comment under his Instagram post.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram was in Australia to commentate during Pakistan’s three match Test series against Australia. On day four of the final Test, he made the Australian commentators struggle after challenging them to pronounce a Pakistani player name.
Wasim Akram challenged the two co-commentators in pronouncing the name of opener Fakhar Zaman. One of them was able to pronounce the name correctly without much difficulty. Meanwhile, the other commentator refrained from pronouncing the name, since if it came out wrong might have caused a fair few implications.
Wasim Akram then narrated a story on how his wife, Shaneira Akram had been pronouncing the name ‘Fakhar’ wrong for a couple of years as well. The trio of commentators then also told the viewers about how Mark Waugh used to have a struggle as well in pronouncing that name.
Australia’s 3-0 rout of Pakistan came after their victories in Melbourne and Perth earlier last month. The overwhelming series victory guaranteed Warner an ideal farewell from the Test format. During the second innings in the final Test on Saturday, January 6, Pakistan was bowled out for 115, setting Australia a score of 130 runs to chase down.

Wasim Akram reacts to derogatory comment on Instagram
When the ball was in his hands, the legendary former Pakistan bowler Wasim Akram intimidated the opponents. He has exhibited a similar level of cruelty in his responses to abusers on social media. On his Instagram account, Akram posted a photo of himself and his spouse Shaniera along with their wishes for a good new year. He posted a photo along with the caption, “Here’s hoping for a better year! Wishing you and your families all the love, safety and prosperity for 2024, all the best from my family to yours.”
Wasim was naturally furious when a fan made a disparaging remark about his wife in the comments area. He responded angrily to the fan, as he wrote, “you think that’s the appropriate thing to say? I wish to meet your parents and tell them what have they created total douche.”
