South Africa’s latest T20 league ‘SA20‘ has taken the cricketing fraternity by storm as fans have got to see some riveting cricketing action. Continuing with the excitement, Durban Super Giants and Paarl Royals locked horns in the 8th Match of the tournament at Kingsmead Durban. The match turned out to be a high-scoring affair as both teams crossed the 180-run mark. However, it was a catch from Evan Jones which caught the attention of fans during the game.
The incident took place on the third ball of the 15th over bowled by Lungi Ngidi, who bowled a slower delivery to deceive the set batter, Quinton de Kock. De Kock opened his arms to smack the wide delivery over extra cover, however, got a leading edge in the process which went in the air towards point.
Evan Jones who was stationed at backward point ran backwards and got to his full stretch to take a sensational catch with the ball travelling over his head.

Coming back to the match, Dubai Super Giants captain Quinton de Kock won the toss and elected to bat first. The Super Giants got off to a blazing start as the openers Kyle Mayers and Wiaan Mulder added 62 runs in 5.5 overs. Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen took the innings forward with their respective half-centuries.
Durban Supergiants climbed to the third spot in the points table
Courtesy of heavy contributions from the top order, Super Giants posted a massive 216/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Lungi Ngidi and Evan Jones picked two wickets each for the Royals.
In reply, Royals had a terrible start as they lost opener Jos Buttler on the score of 17 after 2.5 overs. They further suffered a major collapse and were reduced to 63/4 after 8 overs. A 114-run stand between Eoin Morgan and Dane Vilas brought them back into the game. But it was too much work left to be done in the final two overs as they needed 39 runs in the last two overs.
As a result, Super Giants won the match by 27 runs. Reece Topley took three wickets while Dwaine Pretorious picked up two wickets. Heinrich Klaasen was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his knock of 50 off 19 balls.
