Dewald Brevis, the South African cricketer is among the best young players in the world today. He is often in the news for his hard-hitting in different T20 leagues around the world. The Mumbai team from the Indian T20 League unearthed the gem and paid Rs 3 Crore for his services at the 2022 auctions.
Since then he has become a well-known name in cricketing circles. While his batting exploits bring him a great deal of popularity his fielding is also equally promising. One such instance was on display when he took to the field for Titans against Boland in the CSA T20 Challenge on Tuesday, October 25th.
While fielding at long-on, Brevis took a sensational catch to dismiss Boland captain Ferisco Adams in the match and has gone viral again. The video that has been doing the rounds of the internet shows, Brevis running to the ball, flying towards it and grabbing the ball, all in a split second.

The pull shot played by Adam had nothing wrong with it. In fact, it was hard and flat; something that all batters ask for when playing. The ball was flying at a great pace after hitting the bat and it seems an impossible task to save the boundary and forget catching it. But that is what Brevis was able to do.
As for the match, Brevis’ team could not win it despite his great fielding effort. Boland had set up a target of 122/8 in the first innings on the back of a 63 off of 52 by Farhaan Behardien. Coming on to chase this small target Titans got off to a decent start as Brevis made 22 off of 11 deliveries as the opener. Other opener Jiveshan Pillay also made 18 however at a below-par 34 balls. In the end, Titans failed to reach the target and lost the match by 4 runs by the D/L method.
