Watch- Debutant Aamer Jamal bowls sensational last over, hands Pakistan 6-run win over England

The 26-year-old bowler showed nerves of steel.

Aamer Jamal

When Pakistan and England announced a seven-match T20I series ahead of the 20-20 World Cup, many thought it to be overkill. Since most T20I series are of three matches or a maximum of five matches, a seven-match T20I series raised many eyebrows.

After five matches, however, all those opposing voices are now silent and all those raised eyebrows have relaxed to their normal positions. Cricket fans seem to not get enough of the series once considered overkill. So far five matches have been played out and all five of them have been massively entertaining, to say the least.

With the series hanging in balance at 2-2 after four matches, the two Cricketing against clashed in the fifth one in hopes of taking a lead over the other.

The game, as has been the norm this series, went right down to the wire. Captain Moeen Ali was tasked with getting 15 runs in the last over against the debutant Aamer Jamal.

Here’s the video:

The right-arm pacer targeted the wide line of Moeen Ali and troubled the England captain. On the third ball, Ali was able to hit a six but all the other deliveries were right out of the reach of the southpaw. In the end, the host team won the match by six runs in a nail-biting affair as the debutant bowler showed nerves of steel to defend 15 runs.

Pakistan lead the series 3-2

Earlier England had opted to field after winning the toss and invited Pakistan to post a target on the board. Pakistan on the back of Mohammad Rizwan’s 61 came up with 145/10 in 19 overs. None of the other batters apart from Rizwan were able to lend a helping hand.

Coming on to chase what seemed like a small total, the England batters found it very tough to bat on the pitch. Dawid Malan put up a good fight with 36 and Ali (51*) took charge at the end, but Pakistan bowlers proved to be a handful for the England batters as the hosts clinched back-to-back wins and lead the series 3-2.
