David Warner is having a great time in the Indian T20 League 2022 scoring important runs for his franchise Delhi. While it was a forgettable 2021 ITL for Warner he is thrashing bowlers for fun in the 15th edition of the tournament.

In Delhi’s latest match against Punjab on the 20th of April, the Aussie opener scored his third consecutive half-century of the tournament. He remained unbeaten on 60 off 30 deliveries taking his team to a comfortable victory in the match. It was Warner’s Pushpa celebration after the dominant win that has grabbed the attention of the fans. The gesture of Allu Arjun in his movie “Pushpa: The Rise”, has become famous after the movie become a blockbuster and Warner’s celebration has made the popularity of the movie evident.

In the post-match conversation, Warner said – “The bowlers did a fantastic job to make ours easier. We had to go big in the powerplay. Credit to our bowlers for getting them out.”

Was grateful to have gotten to play the game. Form is temporary class is permanent, I was just trying to be positive and am happy to have played with Shaw,”- he further added.

The convincing victory in the match will ease off the nerves in the Delhi camp, which was hit by COVID-19 ahead of the match. The venue of the match was changed at the last moment to Wankhede Stadium from the MCA Stadium in Pune.

Speaking of the match, Delhi bowlers completely dominated the Punjab batting order restricting them to just 115 runs in 20 overs. While chasing down the target Delhi batters has a blazing start, as openers David Warner and Prithvi Shaw were in a mood to finish off the match quickly. Even after Shaw was dismissed Warner continued with his antics and helped his team chase down the target in just 10.3 overs with nine wickets remaining in hand. Delhi will be facing Rajasthan in their next match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on the 22nd of April.
