Could Melbourne Renegades continue winning form?
For the unversed, the Renegades clashed off against Hobart Hurricanes in their previous encounter, eventually won the game chasing down the target of 163 on the back of wicketkeeper Sam Harper’s mighty 89, which saw the team taste their second consecutive victory after a series of defeats in their previous games of the season.
One has to agree that it was Harper who single-handedly stood up for the team and clinched the win, giving them their much-needed chance to make a cut to the play-offs. Although one could argue that the Renegades have a fair chance of making it through to the play-offs, it would not be easy, given the competitiveness of the tournament.
Post the win, Harper said that it was happy for him to get away with the win and added that he would look to carry on with the form in the upcoming games as well. Fans, on the other hand, would hope for the wicketkeeper to replicate the same innings in the game against the Srikers on Tuesday as well.
“That’s just cricket, was nice to get a few away, and get a win for the boys. I needed to get the job done tonight, it was nice to get a few over the boundary. It was just about trusting myself. We won three games at the start of the tournament, and we have won two in a row now, looking forward to Adelaide now. Guptill was amazing, he is a beautiful striker,” Harper was quoted as saying after the win against the Hurricanes.
