Watch: Athlete suffers an awkward situation as his penis pops out while running
Italy’s Alberto Nonino was competing in the U20 World Athletic Championships.
An embarrassing incident took place when Italy’s Alberto Nonino was competing in the 400-meter race at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships. Due to a wardrobe malfunction, the athlete lost the race as the spectators noticed something wrong with him while running.
Nonino started off wonderfully and was giving a tough fight to his competitors. However, as he crossed the middle phase, his penis kept coming out and he had to reach down to hold his crotch a number of times.
“Perhaps I’ve explained myself poorly. His penis escaped out of the side of his shorts and he had to hold it because it wasn’t allowing him to run properly which is normal when your dongle is swinging from side to side,” the reporter said.
As a result of that, he ended up finishing last in the race. When the race started, Alberto was leading the pack but, as fate would have it, he crossed the finish line at the last. The video of him correcting his shorts soon went viral on social media.
Alberto Nonino also took to his social media handle to express his feelings on the incident and requested the netizens to stop giving him the links to blogs and posts about it.
“I just want to talk to you a little bit about the rumpus there’s been on blogs and social media in general. I’m conscious it was obviously an accident and I’d like to tell you I’m aware of the reaction and you don’t need to send me the links to the blogs out there. I’m trying to laugh about it now but immediately afterwards I felt terrible and I’m thankful to my friends and family for helping me get over what happened a few hours later,” Nonino was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
The U20 World Athletic Championships is taking place at Cali, Colombia. The athletes have taken part in shot-put, high jump, pole vault, javelin, 400 metre-run, 110 metre-hurdles, discus, 100 meters sprint, long jump and 1,500 meters run. It is a decathlon that will require the athletes to participate in ten different events.
