On May 21, Twitter went berserk after Mumbai beat Delhi by five wickets. In the process, they helped Bangalore qualify for the playoffs. The Bangalore team and their fans were rooting for the five-time winners to win this game. The prayers of the 2016-finalists and their fans were heard and hence, they will now travel to Kolkata for the top four clashes next week.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli‘s old Tweet has gone viral on the internet. In that tweet, Kohli was replying to a birthday wish from the current Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma. The incident happened on November 5, 2019, when Kohli had turned 31. The former India skipper had said ‘Thanks Rohit’. This particular tweet from the Delhi-born has now gone viral as Mumbai beat Delhi last night.

This is the tweet going viral

Some of the fans have expressed their creativity on the micro-blogging site. One user said that Kohli is already grateful to Sharma. Another user said ‘Virat Rohit bhai bhai’ possibly downplaying the reports of a rift between the two which used to circulate when Kohli was the Indian skipper.

Also, not to forget after the Mumbai vs Delhi, the 101-Test veteran put out a tweet thanking the Mumbai-based franchise for helping them out in the time of need. On the other hand, Glenn Maxwell said ‘Well isn’t that just terrific’.

After Mumbai’s win, the three-time finalists will head to Kolkata for the Eliminator against Lucknow on May 25. The Faf du Plessis-led side will be looking to make the most of the fortunes as they will be hoping to lay their hands on the ever-elusive trophy. For this, they would need to win this game at any cost. If they win, they would face the loser of Qualifier 1. It is to be noted that the first qualifier shall see Rajasthan take on Gujarat.

The Bangalore-based franchise wouldn’t be looking too far ahead of themselves, and would like to concentrate on the game against the Indian T20 League debutants next week. Both teams have played each other once in the tournament where Bangalore beat Lucknow by 18 runs.
