Twitter Reactions: Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram guide Hyderabad to third consecutive win
Kolkata came off a loss against Delhi while Hyderabad handed Gujarat their first victory
Kolkata and Hyderabad faced off in the 25th game of the Indian T20 League in Mumbai. After winning the toss, the latter decided to field first. They had a dream start as Kolkata lost both openers early. Natarajan took the wickets of Venkatesh Iyer (6) and Sunil Narine (6). On the other hand, Jansen took the wicket of Aaron Finch (7), who was playing his first game in the season.
At 31/3 in 4.3 overs, skipper Shreyas Iyer (28) and Nitish Rana stitched a partnership of 39 runs before the former was clean bowled to a yorker from Umran Malik. Three overs later, Malik took his second wicket as Sheldon Jackson was caught by Natarajan. The explosive innings from Nitish Rana (54 off 36) and Andre Russell (49* off 25) took the team to 175/8. Rana’s innings included six fours and two sixes while Russell hit four fours and as many sixes.
For Hyderabad, Natarajan and Malik too three and two wickets respectively while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jansen, and Jagadeesh Shuchith took one each. In reply, the Men in Orange had a poor start to their innings. Abhishek Sharma (3) was played on against Pat Cummins while Kane Williamson (17) suffered the same fate against Russell.
At 39/2, Rahul Tripathi (71 off 37) and Aiden Markram stitched a partnership of 94 runs. Tripathi took the attack on his former teammates as he hit four fours and six sixes before becoming the second victim of Russell. The right-hander was caught by Venkatesh Iyer. Markram ensured that he took the team to the finishing line with an unbeaten 68 off 36, including six fours and four sixes. Nicholas Pooran (5*) played the second fiddle on the other hand. The team won the game with seven wickets in hand and 2.3 overs to spare in the game.

So Tim Southee was bowling just fine but then Cummins came along and batted just fine but didn’t bowl so fine.

6. Varun needs DK behind the stump to bowl well.
7. Not a single standout young talent from KKR this year. Poor scouting/Lack of chances.— Rowdy #KKR (@Rowdytweeter) April 15, 2022
