Australia tour of Pakistan

Twitter goes wild as Shaheen Afridi emulates Ravindra Jadeja while bowling spin

Pakistan is currently hosting Australia for a multi-format series . The series consists of three Tests, as many ODIs and a sole T20I. The first Test in Rawalpindi ended in a tame draw.

Cricket’s governing body has rated the pitch ‘below average’ and given one demerit point to the venue. Match referee Ranjan Madugalle said that the pitch didn’t offer a fair contest between bat and ball. The fans will be hoping for a better content is Karachi. Meanwhile, ahead of the second Test, Pakistan left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi was seen bowling left-arm spin in the nets.

Afridi’s action perfectly resembled India and number one Test all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

The netizens went berserk, with some suggesting the pacer might take up spin bowling after bowling countless overs in Rawalpindi. He bowled 30 overs over the course of two days, with the Pat Cummins-led side amassing 459 all-out. One user said that Jadeja might have taken a wrong flight and landed in Karachi. The left-hander is in Bangalore with the Indian team to play the second and final Test against Sri Lanka, starting March 12.

Another user gave an idea that Shaheen might bowl spin if the on-field umpires don’t allow pacers to bowl due to bad light.
