Several Players have lit-up the tournament with their sensational hundred.
The Indian T20 League is the most exciting domestic competition in the world. It has everything to keep fans hooked be it big-hitting, breathtaking catches and unplayable deliveries. As the tournament has the best batters from all around the globe, several batting records are bound to get broken. With the players unleashing their beast mode on the oppositions, there have been several quick-fire hundreds which were scored in the 15-year-long history of the tournament. On that note, let’s take a look at the top three fastest hundreds in the history of the Indian T20 League:
3. David Miller (38 balls)
David Miller failed to fire in his debut season in the Indian T20 League as he could only manage 98 runs in six matches. However, he made a sensational comeback in the year 2013 as he notched up 418 runs in the season at an average of 59.71. His most celebrated innings is his breathtaking 38-ball 101 playing for Punjab against the Bangalore franchise in 2013.
Chasing a target of 191, Punjab were reeling at 64/4 after 9.5 overs. With 91 required from the last 39 balls, Miller unleashed his beast mode on Bangalore and played arguably the best knock in the history of the tournament while chasing. His innings was studded with eight fours and seven sixes as Punjab won the match with two overs to spare.
2. Yusuf Pathan (37 balls)
The fans got to see a high-scoring thriller in the second game itself in Indian T20 League 2010. Mumbai batted first and scored a mammoth 212/6 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan were in disarray on 66/4 after 9.2 overs when Yusuf Pathan walked to the crease.
The star batter scored a scintillating 37-ball 100 to bring Rajasthan back into the game. However, his run out in the 18th over tilted the balance in favour of Mumbai who won the match by just four runs. Pathan clobbered nine fours and eight sixes in his swashbuckling innings which is rated as the best knock of his T20 career.
1. Chris Gayle (30 balls)
The undisputed king of the Indian T20 League Chris Gayle was in no mood to spare anyone on 23rd April 2013 at M. Chinaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. All batting records went for a toss as the Pune franchise faced the wrath of the Universe Boss. The destructive opener played a mind-boggling innings of 175 off 66 balls with the help of 13 fours and 17 sixes. Courtesy of his knock, Bangalore notched up the highest score in Indian T20 League i.e 263/5 in 20 overs. He brought up his hundred off just 30 balls as the Pune bowlers were seen hiding from Gayle storm.
