The 20-20 World Cup 2022 has already seen some exciting action, with many matches going down to the wire. The mega event has also seen many unexpected incidents and game upsets, the most notable one being Pakistan’s defeat to Zimbabwe in the Super 12 Stages. In this listicle, we will have a look at some of the most unexpected moments from the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
5. Haris Rauf’s bouncer to Bas de Leede
Pacer Haris Rauf perfectly laid out Pakistan’s intentions to get back on track during their game against the Netherlands with a nasty bouncer that injured batter Bas de Leede. Haris bowled a short delivery on the fifth delivery of the sixth over, which surprised the batter and hit him on the helmet.
The opposing players and physio rushed over to check on him, and he had a cut on his cheek. De Leede had to leave for the dugout, and the Netherlands had to name Logan van Beek as their concussion replacement.

4. Junaid Siddiqui’s 109 M six
UAE’s No. 10 batsman, Junaid Siddiqui, hit a 109m skyscraper six off Dushmantha Chamira in the 17th over of the First Stage match against Sri Lanka. The six was so long that the ball landed on the stadium’s roof.
Junaid was surprised when the ball travelled so far. He started looking at his muscles after hitting this huge six. Junaid scored 18 runs in his inning, thanks to a four and a six. UAE, however, was eliminated from the First stage.

3. Free hit-byes
Virat Kohli’s masterclass performance in what turned out to be one of the greatest India-Pakistan clashes stunned everyone. The final over of India’s run chase was dramatic. With 13 required off three balls, Kohli smashed a six off a waist-high full toss, resulting in a no-ball.
It was followed by a wide, which extended the free-hit ball. Nawaz bowled Kohli out on the next ball, but because it was a free hit, the former India captain was safe. As the ball trickled down towards third-man, Virat and Dinesh Karthik ran three byes.
This is pure cricketing genius. #ViratKohli and DK run for three runs after the ball hits the stump on a no ball and richoted towards boundary line.

2. Last ball no ball
The game between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe went down to the wire as the latter needed just five runs to win the match. Blessing Muzarabani was stumped off Mosaddek Hossain by wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan, and the Bangladesh players began celebrating.
However, the umpires referred the stumping decision to the third umpire, and the replay revealed that the wicketkeeper had collected the ball in front of the stumps, rendering the stumping invalid and the delivery a no-ball, much to Bangladesh’s surprise and Zimbabwe’s relief. Zimbabwe, however, could not win the match.
The T20 World Cup has delivered one of the more bizarre finishes to a cricket match ever seen. Bangladesh thought they had done enough after Zimbabwe failed to hit the five runs required off the final delivery, only for the third umpire to rule a no-ball. #7NEWS pic.twitter.com/rA4tzDECeu

1. Kohli’s two sixes against Haris Rauf
In India’s first match of the competition, Virat Kohli scored 82 runs in 53 balls against Pakistan. The 33-year-old played a stunning knock to chase down 160 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The game-changing moment came in the 19th over when Virat hit two sixes against Haris Rauf.
With 28 needed off eight balls, Virat punched a length ball for a six over mid-on, setting the crowd roaring. He then followed it up with another six on the last ball of the over. The Men in Blue then chased down the remaining 16 runs in the eventful 20th over.
