The 20-20 World Cup is going at an unprecedented rate. The mega event has brought about a lot of entertainment to fans. Big upsets, high-quality batting and innumerable heart-stopping moments have already taken place in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022.
With the Men in Blue winning their first two matches, the expectations from them are really high. The fans are hoping for the players to go deep into the tournament and come up with some individual records as well. There are however already some records that are helmed by Indian players. Six sixes in an over-Yuvraj Singh
It was in the 2007 World Cup that Yuvraj Singh smashed six sixes in an over to Stuart Broad and wrote his name in the records book. So far, no other batter has achieved this feat in a 20-20 World Cup. India also won the inaugural World Cup on back of Yuvraj Singh’s performance in the tournament.
Best Batting Average- Virat Kohli
The Indian star batter Virat Kohli bats with a sensational average of 89.90 in 23 matches and has made 989 runs. This is the best average at the 20-20 World Cup. The second-best average at the World Cup is Mike Hussey’s 54.6.
Most number of dismissals- MS Dhoni
The legendary India captain MS Dhoni has played 33 matches at the 20-20 World Cup and in those matches he has made 32 dismissals which is the highest of any wicket-keeper. His dismissals include 21 catches and 11 stumps.
Most Fifty- Virat Kohli
Former India skipper Virat Kohli is just 28 runs short of becoming the most runs scorer at the 20-20 World Cup. When it comes to the number of fifties, however, he comfortably sits at the top with 12. The next on the list is also an Indian, Rohit Sharma with 9.
Most matches as captain- MS Dhoni
India’s most successful captain MS Dhoni got his very first success in a 20-20 World Cup when he took a young team all the way to a tournament win. On the back of his sensational start, Dhoni went on to captain 33 matches at the mega event, the highest of any player. The second most is by South African JP Duminy (18).
