Delhi has had a mixed season in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022 so far. They have won three out of their first seven games. Predominantly, the reason for their inconsistent run is their over-reliance on their opening batters Prithvi Shaw and David Warner.

Skipper Rishabh Pant is due for a big score and Rovman Powell hasn’t fully lived up to his potential just yet. Besides, they lost several of their match-winners during the mega auction. They tried to buy back some of their big players but lost the bidding wars to other franchises. In this listicle, we shall be taking a look at three players who are doing well after leaving Delhi this year.

Three players who are doing well

  1. Shreyas Iyer

Iyer played for the Delhi-based franchise from 2015 to last year. After Gautam Gambhir’s resignation from captaincy in the middle of the 2018 season, he lead the team till 2020. Last year, due to a shoulder injury, Rishabh Pant was made captain and the keeper-batter remained the skipper even after Iyer’s return. This year, the Mumbai-born player is leading the Kolkata-based franchise. The right-hander is the highest run-getter for his team with 248 runs in eight games, averaging 35.42 and striking at 142.52.

2. Shikhar Dhawan

Dhawan played for Delhi from 2019 to 2021. During the auction earlier this year, the franchise was trying to buy him back but lost the bidding war against Punjab. He was the leading run-getter in all the editions he played for Delhi. This year, the left-hander has scored 302 runs in eight games and is the third-highest run-getter in the competition and the highest for his team. His batting average and strike rate are 43.14 and 132.45 respectively.

3. Shimron Hetmyer

The player from Guyana joined Delhi in 2020. The left-hander scored 427 runs in 26 games. This year, he has been signed by Rajasthan. They have assigned the role of a finisher. The 2016 U19 World Cup-winning skipper has got 227 runs in eight games averaging 56.75 and striking at 156.96
