India cricket team will play a five-match T20I series against South Africa starting on June 9 in Delhi. The BCCI selectors have put together a second-string team to rest some of the big-ticket players after a grueling Indian T20 League 2022. Some of the players have got a maiden call-up while some of them have played for India before. Apart from that, there are a few players who have made comebacks.
These players were out of favor or injured for long periods. With the 20-20 World Cup, the team will be looking to zero in on a few players to have some clarity ahead of the showpiece event. In this listicle, we will discuss three players who will get the last opportunity in the series

1.Dinesh Karthik
He had a great season with the bat for Bangalore in the 15th season of the Indian T20 League. The right-hander scored 330 runs in 16 games at an average of 55 and a strike rate of 183.33 with one fifty. He was dropped from the side in 2019 and has made his comeback after three years. The Tamil Nadu player will be competing with Rishabh Pant in the wicketkeeper slot and as a finisher. Currently, Pant is out of form but has the ability to bounce back. Karthik, on the other hand, would like to carry his form.
2. Ruturaj Gaikwad
The opening batter had a mixed season in the cash-rich league. He started poorly but played some blistering knocks in the latter half. The right-hander also hasn’t had a great start to his international career as it has been marred by injuries. With the likes of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Ishan Kishan breathing down his neck, he would be looking to grab every opportunities to push his case for the showpiece event.
3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
The right-arm medium pacer has been in and out of the team due to injuries since 2018. It has been observed that whenever he comes back after recovering, he takes time to get back to his best. This is why he has failed in a few games and has sit out of the few games. In the 2022 season of the Indian T20 League, he looked like getting back to his best but couldn’t pick wickets. In the series, he would like to come up with some match-winning performances with the ball to push his case for the world event.
