The clash between India and Pakistan was the most awaited one of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. A great show from both teams was expected in the encounter, and Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, was also expected to get good. However, things did not go his way, and Arshdeep Singh got the better of him.

The youngster took Babar’s wicket on his first ball in the World Cup. On the first ball of the second over of the match, Arshdeep bowled a beautiful inswinger, which hit the Pakistan skipper’s pads. The umpire immediately ruled him out, but the batter was not convinced. Babar called for a DRS but was unsuccessful as the ball was hitting plump on the stumps.

Arshdeep Singh got his first-ever World Cup wicket with the Golden duck of Babar Azam. The star batter has been in good form recently and was expected to go big for his team again this time. The last time he played against India in a World Cup, he scored a brilliant half-century to guide his team to a 10-wicket victory.

On the other hand, Arshdeep went on to get another scalp in his second over. He dismissed another in-form player, Mohammad Rizwan, on the last ball of the fourth over. The batter could not time the well-directed bouncer and edged it into the hands of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, stationed at fine-leg.

In the meantime, Twitter erupted with the wicket of Babar Azam. The Indian fans were quick to mock the batter for failing to perform under duress. On the other hand, Pakistani fans were shocked to see their captain fail to perform.

“Babar Azam on golden duck and too against a newbie indian fastbowler? This is unbelievable!” a fan wrote. “Undoubtedly, Babar Azam Is A Great Cricketer But What I Think Is He Can’t Handle Big Match Pressure…” another wrote. “This too shall pass. Stay strong,” sarcastically wrote the third.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Babar Azam’s wicket
