‘This rivalry is bigger than Ind vs Pak’ – Michael Vaughan hits back at Wasim Jaffer as he takes dig at England after whitewash in Bangladesh

One of the greatest banters in cricket that always engages the fans is not on the field but on Twitter between Wasim Jaffer and Michael Vaughan. When either England or India performs poorly, the two never fail to poke fun at each other. The two were at it once again after England’s whitewash against Bangladesh in a recent T20I series.
It all started when Jaffer took a dig at the former English captain after his team lost the three-match series in Bangladesh. Wasim Jaffer was wearing the Bangladesh team coaching jersey in the photo in the tweet. The Bangladesh Cricket Board appointed the former Indian batsman as a U-19 batting consultant in July 2022.
“Hello @MichaelVaughan, long time no see #BANvENG,” he wrote in the caption.
Now, Vaughan has given Jaffer the perfect response. He replied with a photo of the current English captain Jos Buttler holding the 20-20 World Cup trophy, which they won in Australia in 2022. “Morning Wasim ..” he wrote in the caption, implying that they were still the T20 Champions.

In the meantime, the England men’s cricket team has had a difficult few months since winning the 20-20 World Cup in Australia. They were defeated in back-to-back One Day International bilateral series against Australia and South Africa. Their poor form in limited-overs cricket has continued, with a whitewash by Bangladesh in a bilateral series.
England toured Bangladesh and began the series with a 2-1 win in the one-day internationals. The joy, however, was short-lived as they were defeated 3-0 by an inspired Bangladesh side in the T20 series.
England were on their way to a consolation win in the third and final T20 of the series. They stumbled, however, while chasing a competitive 159 at Sher-e-Bangla stadium. At the end of the 13th over, the Three Lions were 100/1. Mustafizur Rahman, on the other hand, dismissed the set Dawid Malan and Jos Buttler in back-to-back deliveries to bring the game back to life. England lost wickets at regular intervals, eventually losing by 16 runs.
Here is how Twitter reacted

India is more than happy to win bilateral series and not bother about @icc events ??where as other teams won’t bother about bilateral wins or loss but comeback together with a strong team and win worldcups! Well be happy with no @icc cup just keep winning bilateral @BCCI ???
