As Australia is set to face India in the finals of Test Championship 2023, Star Aussie allrounder Camron Green joined his national team on Thursday. After having a successful stint with Mumbai Indians in the recently concluded Indian Premier League 2023, Green is looking forward to facing the Indian challenge in England.

Speaking with Apex Cricket Council, Green praised India skipper Rohit Sharma and said that the calmness he brings to the ground is immense. He said, “The calmness he (Rohit) has out in the middle is so evident. He’s been there and done that for 10 years. To be out there with him and just talk through a situation was awesome.”

Further speaking about his role in Mumbai Indians he said, “My role was trying to be aggressive and then he showed ways to go about it, whether it was attacking spin, attacking pace, kind of picking your bowler in a way.” Notably, Green in his first IPL season scored 452 runs in 16 innings at an average of 50.22 including two half centuries and a century against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Virat will be a threat – Green

Speaking about the marquee clash and the potential threats Green said that informing Virat Kohli will be the biggest threat. He also talked about the match pressure as he said, “Virat Kohli. I think he always tries to be the man to stand up in big moments. A World Test Championship is a massive moment, so I look forward to that. There is nothing like Test cricket when you’re kind of out in the middle. Your nerves are running high. I think the best players are the best ones that can handle that.”

Notably, India under the leadership of Rohit Sharma is set to face Australia at the iconic Oval Cricket Ground in London from June 7. In the prestigious game, India will look to clinch the trophy. In last year’s summit clash, New Zealand beat India by 8 wickets to get the inaugural trophy. Indian team has started practising on the ground from Sunday and will be keen to get the mace home.
