‘Thara Bhai Jaiswal itne run marega ki kisine sochi na hogi’ – Fans react as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler help RR post strong total against DC
In the 11th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Delhi Capitals (DC) faced off with Rajasthan Royals (RR) at their home ground in Guwahati. Riding on Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s fiery half-centuries, RR posted a mammoth total of 199/4 runs in 20 overs. Buttler in his innings scored 79 runs off 51 balls while Jaiswal scored 60 runs off 31 balls.
Earlier, after winning the toss DC skipper David Warner opted to bowl first. After being called to Bat RR got a flying start in the powerplay. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler added 98 runs for opening wickets in just 8.3 overs. Their partnership was broken by Mukesh Kumar who caught and bowled Jaiswal. After his departure in the very next over RR suffered another blow as skipper Sanju Samson was trapped by Kuldeep Yadav for a duck.
It opened the floodgates for the Royals as RR’s middle order once again failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Homeboy Riyan Parag once again failed to score runs as he was dismissed by Rovman Powell for 7 runs off 11 balls. Although in the end Buttler along with Shimron Hetmyer added runs to help RR to post a hefty total of runs in 20 overs. Hetmyer in his innings scored unbeaten 39 runs off 21 balls. Meanwhile, For Delhi, Kuldeep Yadav, Powell, and Mukesh Kumar clinched the wickets. Yadav and Powell clinched one wicket each while Mukesh got two wickets.
Will Delhi win their first game of the season?
David Warner’s Delhi Capitals are looking to win their first game of the season. The team will need to bat well to chase 200 runs to register their first victory in IPL 2023. In their last two games, DC was thrashed by Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans at Lucknow and Delhi respectively.
Although, all eyes will shift to Mumbai where El Clasico of the Indian Premier League is set to be played. Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians will take on MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in the second game of the Super Saturday. MI will look to bounce back after getting thrashed by Bangalore in the first game while CSK will want to continue their winning run. Meanwhile, fans react to Rajasthan Royals’ amazing batting performance.
