Fans react as Yuvraj Singh’s father opens up on why he trained Arjun Tendulkar

Arjun Tendulkar, the son of former Indian cricketer and legend Sachin Tendulkar, has been facing criticism time and time again and has been facing the brunt for being a legend’s son. However, the Indian youngster is proving his worth slowly and steadily, over time and with matches to come under his belt, fans are hoping that the allrounder will make an impact for his Ranji team, Goa at the earliest.

As far as his Indian T20 League career is concerned, the left-handed batter was picked by the Mumbai franchise and is yet to get the cap for the team. While many lauded the think tank’s decision to go ahead with talented players, a few opined that it was unfair to Arjun, just because he is the son of an Indian great.

As things stand, Yograj Singh, the father of Yuvraj Singh, has been training the youngster and the former decided to open up about the youngster. Saying that Arjun is extremely talented, Yograj warned the Mumbai Ranji team for releasing the talented player. “I trained Arjun Tendulkar because Yuvi and Sachin requested me. Arjun is very talented, it’s Mumbai’s loss that he left them. They’ll realise soon,” Yograj was quoted as saying to the Times of India.

Arjun Tendulkar walks path of his father

Much to the delight of the Indian fans, Arjun managed to score a century on his Ranji debut for Goa and eventually replicated his father’s record. For the unversed, Sachin managed to achieve the feat in his first-ever Ranji match and the fans left no stone unturned to heap praise on the youngster for silencing the critics.

With runs and wickets under his belt, it remains to be seen if Arjun would be given a chance to don the Mumbai jersey in the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023 edition. If at all Arjun gets a game in the T20 extravaganza, given the competitiveness of the tournament, it would be a tough ask for him to keep up with the pace of the contest.

As things stand, let us take a look at a few Twitter reactions to Yograj Singh’s statement:
