The fifth Test between India and England has been an engrossing affair so far. The game started with a display of quality Test match bowling from the England side, sending five of India’s top-order batters at just 98 runs. It soon shifted to India’s favour by Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, who combined to take India’s total to 338/7 at the first day’s end.

Although Pant got out playing his usual aggressive brand of cricket, Jadeja remained unbeaten at the crease. Starting Day 2 in a similar vein of form, the Gujarat batter soon reached a century and claimed another feather in his crown.

The left-handed all-rounder was lauded by all for his gritty century after coming in at 98/5 in difficult conditions. The batter was dismissed by James Anderson on 104 off 194 but the damage to England’s bowling was already done.

Talking of the game, it started very poorly for the Indian batting. All of India’s five top-order batters went back for just 98 runs. Shubman Gill although got off to a good start but soon perished off Anderson. The fate of Chetshwar Pujara was similar and he departed on 13.

There were great hopes from Virat Kohli but he failed again to deliver. Kohli got out off Matty Potts after adding just 11 runs to the total. Shreyas Iyer and Hanuma Vihari also could not do much and got out cheaply, leaving India in a very difficult position.

It was then Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, both of whom came out as the best players on the day. Pant got out after scoring 146 runs but Jadeja remained unbeaten at Stumps on Day1. He went on to reach his hundred on the next day while ensuring India reach a mammoth score on the board. Several fans took to Twitter to appreciate Jadeja for his superb century. Here’s a look at some of the reactions on Ravindra Jadeja’s century:
