The chief of the governing body for International Cricket emphasized hosting more games for women’s cricket recently. Given that there is a rise in popularity of women’s cricket all over the world, the cricket boards of all cricket-playing nations do not want that to go to waste.
Focusing on popularizing women’s cricket in the Indian subcontinent, the Indian cricket board and Sri Lanka cricket board have come together to host a three-match ODI series starting on 1st July. Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka and India played in the recently concluded T20I series in which India won the series by 2-1. Sri Lanka Women’s last ODI game was against Pakistan on June 5th 2022 in Karachi. Sri Lanka won that match by a massive 93 runs with captain Chamari Athapaththu’s 101. They had however lost the ODI series against Pakistan as well.
India: India, on the other hand, played their last ODI game in the Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.
