The South Africa tour of England is all set to begin on 19th July 2022 with a three-match ODI series between the two nations. The first match will be played at Riverside Ground, Chester Le- Street starting at 5:30 pm (IST). The second ODI will be at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester on 22nd July starting at 5:30 pm as well while the third ODI of the series will be played at Headingley, Leeds on 24th July from 3:30 pm onwards. The two teams last played an ODI series in 2019-20 which ended in a draw 1-1.

The action will then shift to a fast-paced three-match T20I series from 27th July onwards. Both England and South Africa’s last T20I series was against India. While India vs South Africa was drawn 2-2, England lost to India by 2-1 in their recent series.  The last three series between the two countries are won by England. The first T20 match between the two teams will be held at County Ground, Bristol starting at 11:00 pm. The second game of the series will be played at Sofia Gardens, Cardiff starting at 11:00 pm as well. The third T20I will be played at The Rose Bowl, Southampton with the game starting at 7:00 pm.

After some ‘wham-bam’ cricket in the limited-overs series, the two teams will then lock horns in a three-match Test Series which will hold tremendous importance for South Africa as they’re at the top of the table in World Test Championship. They would like to further reinforce their position at the top with a series victory in England. It should be noted that England have won the last three Test series’ held between the two nations. They hammered South Africa by the margins of 2-1 in 2015-16 in South Africa, 3-1 in 2017 in England and again 3-1 in 2019-20 in South Africa. Given the current form of England in Test cricket, they will again fancy their chances of beating the Proteas.

The venue for the first Test is Lord’s, London starting from 17th August, the second Test will be held at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester from 25th August. The third and final Test of the series will be played at the Kennington Oval, London from 8th September. All the Tests are scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm (IST).
