Star India batter Ajinkya Rahane made his comeback in the Indian Test team after some amazing performances in the ongoing Indian Premier League. However, it should not only be based on his heroics in IPL but injuries have also forced Indian Team Management to look back to the veteran batter. However, his inclusion came at the cost of Suryakumar Yadav’s exclusion from the team.
Pointing out the same former India batter Aakash Chopra slams selection committee with ‘Slecet kyu kiya tweet’. Chopra, who was delighted by Rahane’s return, questioned India’s WTC final squad, particularly for leaving Suryakumar Yadav out. Notably, SKY was a member of India’s Border-Gavaskar Trophy squad and only participated in one Test, the series opener in Nagpur, where he scored 8 out of 20.
Aakash Chopra, who was unable to figure out why they left him out after including him in the prestigious Test series took to Twitter to question Team management. “Happy for Rahane. But how does the SKY inclusion-exclusion make sense? Select kyu kiya… kar liya toh ek match ke baad drop kyu kiya? (Why did you select him and if you did, why drop him after one match),” tweeted Chopra.
Ajinkya Rahane has haunting records in English conditions
After 15 months long break from international cricket, Ajinka Rahane is set to participate in the prestigious World Test Championship finals. Team India will expect Rahane to perform well in English conditions considering his batting record in England. Rahane has scored 729 runs in fifteen matches in England at an average of 26.03. It also includes 1 century and five half centuries. Notably, he was dismissed for a duck thrice in England.
India is set to face Australia in the world test championship finals at the Oval Cricket Ground in London from June 7. India will be playing without top of their players like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah who are running out of cricket due to various injuries.
