Skyexch.net is proud to act as the title sponsor of the ACC Women’s T20 Championship, which is all set to return after a gap of nine long years. It will be hosted by the Malaysian Cricket Association. It will commence on 17th June 2022 and the summit clash will take place on 25th June 2022.
The tournament will be contested by ten teams. The teams will look to emerge victorious, which will take them to the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup. The Kinrara Oval and the YSD UKM Oval will host the matches of the tournament. The teams participating are UAE, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Nepal, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Bahrain, Singapore, and Bhutan.
The 10 sides will be divided into two groups where they will play each other once in the league stage. The top two teams from each group will then move forward to play in the semifinals. The top two teams will then battle it out in the summit clash.
Mr. Jay Shah was excited to announce the return of the tournament after nine years. During the press meeting for the announcement of the event, he said, “The last time the ACC Women’s T20 Championship was in 2013. The revival is long overdue, and this, I believe, will set the tone for us to move faster towards the development of women’s pathway programs in Asia. The development of women’s cricket programs is an integral component that must be pushed forward.”
“With this tournament, in addition to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Thailand, two more countries will be awarded the opportunity to make it to the Asia Cup,” he further added.
The Asian Cricket Council is waiting eagerly to welcome all the participating teams and wishes them all the luck for the tournament.
