Once again, but in the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup, India and Pakistan will square off against one another. In their final home match of the tournament, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh decisively in the Super 4 stage.

India, on the contrary, played nearly flawlessly in their final league game of the 2023 Asia Cup. They destroyed Nepal and easily won their match with a margin of 10 wickets. Both teams enter this crucial match with a sense of fresh confidence and are expecting to defeat their bitter rivals.

Mohammed Shami was not selected against Pakistan because India decided to start Jasprit Bumrah as well as Mohammed Siraj instead, with Shardul serving as the third pacer. Fans have asked India’s bowlers to offer some batting depth as they get ready for a rematch with Pakistan during the Super 4 round of the continental competition since this might be key for India’s hopes in the Asia Cup and the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2023.

The Indian team management and especially the bowlers have heard this shout and have started to work hard on their batting. A recent photo has emerged from the Indian team practice on Friday which saw Mohammed Siraj, who bats at number 11 for the side, battle it hard in the nets. He was seen hitting and timing the ball well and the supporters would be hoping his hardwork can come to the forefront of things on Sunday when India take on Pakistan

KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah to return

KL Rahul, the standout batter for India, may rejoin the playing XI against Pakistan after an absence of over six months. Rahul last played for India in the ODI series against Australia. He also missed the World Test Championship final and the West Indies tour due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the Indian Premier League.

Rahul was also unable to play in the Asia Cup group stage, but he returned to full health in time for the Super Four and travelled to Sri Lanka a few days back. Rahul will be joined in the starting lineup by Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the match versus Nepal because of the birth of his first child, Angad Jasprit Bumrah.
