The recently concluded ACC Women’s T20 Championship has brought great success for women’s cricket in associate countries. The craze for this sport is gripping these countries as well. To build upon the success of the ACC Women’s T20I series, Singapore Cricket and Malaysia Cricket have launched a bilateral series between the women’s teams of these countries.
The three-match Singapore Women vs Malaysia Women T20I Series is going to be held from 8th July to 10th July. Fans are waiting eagerly for this series to commence as the ACC Women’s T20I brought some high-quality games of cricket to the viewers. Singapore Women vs Malaysia Women T20I series can only be watched on FanCode. This series will not be broadcasted on any conventional TV channel. Nevertheless, the excitement for the same is well and truly on.
Talking of the game, this will be their second meeting in less than a month after they met in the first match of ACC Women’s T20I. Both teams will play three T20Is in this series namely on the 8th, 9th and 10th of July in the Indian Association Ground, Singapore. Singapore Women’s team is led by Shafina Mahesh whereas Winifred Duraisingam is expected to lead the Malaysian Women’s side. The Malaysian side sits at the 33rd position in the Women’s T20I team rankings whereas the Singapore team is currently unranked.
The Malaysian women’s team is on an upward trajectory in terms of their ranking recently on the back of many great performances. In the recently concluded ACC Women-s T20I Championship, the host team Malaysia went all the way to the final. Although they lost the final to a quality UAE side, reaching the final was no small feat either.
The last time these two teams met was in the ACC Championship where the Malaysia team came out as the winners. Having made 171 runs in 20 overs, they were able to all-out the Singapore team at just 54.
