India vs Afghanistan 2024
Shivam Dubey credits CSK and MS Dhoni for his rise in International cricket after consecutive fifties against Afghanistan
Shivam Dubey praise and credits the CSK management and especially MS Dhoni for his rise in International cricket after Afghanistan heroics.
India downed Afghanistan in the 2nd T20I at Indore by six wickets and almost five overs left and got an unassailable lead in the 3-match series by 2-0. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam put on a show together in Indore and took on the Afghanistan bowlers to cleaners. But in the absence of Hardik Pandya what relieved the Indian fans the most was the six galore put up by Shivam Dubey.
Shivam Dube showcased his prowess in the T20I series against Afghanistan. With back-to-back half-centuries, Dube not only justified his selection but also emerged as a pivotal player for the team. As the T20 World Cup 2024 looms, Dube’s performances in the T20I series against Afghanistan take on added significance. The all-rounder has risen admirably to the challenge, underlining his potential to be a game-changer on the international stage.
Another talented product of the CSK factory
CSK’s strategic move to acquire Dube for INR 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2022 auction has proven to be a masterstroke. The franchise’s investment in the young talent has not only bolstered their squad but has also significantly contributed to the Indian team’s success. Dube’s emergence as a pace-bowling all-rounder has been crucial in filling the void left by Hardik Pandya.
His adaptability and consistent performances have added depth to the Indian team’s playing XI. In a post-match interview on Jio Cinema, Dube expressed his gratitude towards CSK and skipper MS Dhoni. He credited them with bringing out the best in him, emphasizing the role played by the team in nurturing his talent and boosting his confidence.
Dube highlighted the unwavering support he received from CSK’s coaching staff, including Mike Hussey and Stephen Fleming. Their confidence in his abilities, both as a batsman and a bowler, played a pivotal role in shaping his mindset and approach to the game.
Shivam Dubey said, “The credit goes to the CSK team and Mahi bhai because I have always had the game in me. But bringing out the best from a player is something done by CSK,” Dube said after the match on Jio Cinema.
He further added, “All the things they have given me, the confidence, they have told me that ‘Shivam, you can score runs in the IPL, don’t worry, we believe in you’. And many others, like Mike Hussey and Fleming, told me that they have faith in me. It was there in my mind.”
