Shikhar Dhawan praises this youngster pacer from Punjab

Punjab’s opening batter Shikhar Dhawan has praised young medium-pacer, Vaibhav Arora. The youngster made his debut in the Indian T20 League against Chennai on April 3. The right-arm bowler took two wickets and gave away only 21 runs in his four-over spell. Chasing 181, the defending champions were restricted to 126 all-out, losing their third game on the trot.

After the game, Dhawan said that it feels wonderful to make a comeback in the tournament. Punjab had lost their previous game against Kolkata massively. The opening batter added that Arora was causing problems for the batters in the nets. He revealed that Arora’s bowling got him the debut in this game.

“It feels wonderful,” Shikhar Dhawan said during the post-match presentation. We had a fantastic comeback. It’s incredible.” In the nets, he (Vaibhav) was also causing us problems. That is why he was allowed to make his debut today. He utilized the pitch and bowled a solid line and length.”

The left-hander further added that he is in good spirits as far as his batting is concerned. He also spoke about his partnership with Liam Livingstone for the third wicket. The team had lost two wickets for 14 runs. At this stage, the duo added 95 runs for the team.

“I’m in good spirits” (about his batting). We had already lost two wickets, so we knew we had to get back on track. Liam Livingstone hit an incredible home run to take the game away from the opposition, but I knew I had to step up as well.

“When we lost two quick wickets, we didn’t know we’d get 180, but we kept the positive attitude going. We thought we’d be in the game if we got some early wickets,” said Dhawan.
