Shane Warne’s colorful life to be dramatized in a new miniseries
Shane Warne tragically passed away on the 4th of March, 2022. He was away on a ‘boy’s trip’ with his closest friends in Thailand. He was found unresponsive at his luxurious villa. When taken to the hospital, he was declared dead from a suspected heart attack. Warne has been a legend on the field and lived an equally colourful life off it.
According to reports, the life of the Australian icon is going to be dramatized in a miniseries. Nine Entertainment Co has involved themselves actively in bringing the story of Warne’s life to his fans and followers. They are presently in talks to sign a production company to make the miniseries a reality.
Andy Ryan, who is the head of drama for the broadcasters, said that the miniseries will be a ‘premium quality drama with international appeal.’ Andy recently spoke to The Sydney Morning Herald, where he said- “Warnie’s life was so full of drama, like the man himself.â€
In his words, the network wants the series to explore the drama-filled life of the star. ‘He was a sporting legend, a national treasure, international kind of icon, but he was also a larrikin, a rogue and a charmer and a flawed man.â€- Ryan added.
Ryan feels that the outpouring of grief over the icon’s death revealed the impact he had on the people. The network felt that the colourful life of such a Legend needs a telling and thus, the decision to produce the miniseries was taken.
Shane Warnes’ state memorial service will be held on the 30th of March, 2022 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Sources have revealed that Nine, Seven, ABC and Foxtel intend to carry out the broadcast of the event.
