The Asia Cup 2022 has been full of drama as the crowd was treated to thrilling finishes in almost all the matches of the tournament. The fans got to see two India vs Pakistan clashes in the tournament which made it even more intense. During the first match in the Super 4s stage between India and Pakistan, former Pakistan Cricketer Shahid Afridi’s daughter was seen waving the Indian flag.

Afridi has finally revealed the reason behind his daughter’s act. The 42-year-old said that he went to watch the epic clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium with his family on Sunday. His wife later informed him that there were only around ten percent Pakistan fans in the stadium for the match and due to that, there was a shortage of Pakistan flags. He also admitted that his younger daughter waved India’s flag and he was unsure about sharing the video on Twitter regarding the same.

“My wife told me that there were barely 10% Pakistani fans in the stadium and the rest were Indian fans. Pakistani flags were not available there so my younger daughter was waving the Indian flag. I received the video, but I was unsure about whether to share it online or not,” Afridi said in his latest YouTube video.

Coming back to the match, Pakistan went on to seal a victory on the penultimate ball of the game. They further registered another thrilling win against Afghanistan and booked a place in the final of the competition. However, Pakistan were beaten by Sri Lanka in their last game of the Super 4s stage ending their winning momentum in the tournament. Pakistan will once again meet Sri Lanka in the final today at 7:30 PM(IST) at Dubai.

Toss has been a crucial part of the Asia cup 2018 where teams batting second have won most of the matches in the competition. It will again play a role in the finals as teams would once again prefer chasing on the track. Sri Lanka have won many hearts with their dramatic turnaround in the competition. They will look to give the perfect gift to their country by winning the Asia Cup amid the ongoing financial turmoil in their country.
