Rohit Sharma reacts on his way of dealing with outside criticism by others
Rohit Sharma has started to avoid social media in order to have a better life in the game
India will begin the ODI World Cup 2023 as considered one of the tournament’s favourites, as is common custom. This is especially true considering that the tournament is a home World Cup and a different host nation has won each of the previous three tournaments.
India currently seems like a million dollars in both squad and form. The team has all it needs to win the championship, despite R Ashwin’s unexpected inclusion in the lineup to replace the injured Axar Patel.
The stakes are high after ten years without a world white-ball championship trophy. But the Indian captain Rohit Sharma seemed to rise serenely above everything, reminiscent of his World Cup-winning predecessor.
Rohit is still a maestro of the 50-over game and has an unmatched record in India, even if he may not be as unstoppable with the bat as he was during the 2019 World Cup when he broke the record with five centuries.
Rohit Sharma’s mantra to success?
The Mumbai Indians skipper claims that particularly this year, after taking on the role of India captain, he has further decluttered his social life. He said, “You see my phone, you can check it, I don’t have Twitter or Instagram on my phone for the past nine months. If we have to do any commercial post, my wife handles it. These are distractions, they all are on the phone the whole day. It’s a waste of time and energy. So I have decided not to have it on my phone because if it’s there, I will watch it.”
The Team India skipper then responded to the unreal expectations of the Indian team fans for this ODI World Cup 2023. He said, “I don’t have an answer for it. How can I say that now? All I can hope is that the team is in a good space. Everybody is fit and fine. That’s all I can hope for. I cannot say beyond this. Good space is such an important factor and it’s a very key thing now.”
